Making Custom Sail Covers, S2-E83
1 min read
Sail covers are important to protect the sails from inclement weather and UV damage. This week’s episode of the Art of Boat Building finds Bob Emser entering more new territory as he sews sail covers for the main sail and gib. Bob creates patterns specifically for his Haven 12¹⁄₂,using sheet plastic for his patterns. He is using a marine grade fabric made by Sunbrella and twist locks for the project from Sailrite.
“If you’re going to make it, make it beautiful.”
