In this video I a giving a quick run through of my ultimate CNC router feed and speed calculator. I have developed this calculator to be the tool I wish I had when I started out on my CNC woodworking journey. The calculator factors in all of the typical variables required to calculate your feed and speed rate. Parameters such as chip load, spindle RPM, flute count and cutter diameter. However this calculator also factors in some key parameters that many other systems overlook…

Machine and fixture rigidity are also accounted for within the equations and this helps to output a recommended depth of cut as well as spindle speed and feed rate. This gives you the full picture of information you will need when undertaking tool path programming.

Simple sliders in the calculator allow you to tweak the numbers and see how they affect the output section in real time. This allows you to play around with various different combinations of flute count, spindle RPM and fixture rigidity to achieve the figures that your particular operation will run best with.
