DIY Kitchen Island – Part 2: Electrical and Plumbing

2 min read

Hello, everyone! Welcome back to the channel for Part 2 of my Kitchen Island DIY Build. In this video, I’ll cover how I completed the plumbing for my island. I’ll show some of the electrical as well, but the bulk of the video will cover the plumbing. This took the longest to complete since there was multiple steps to it. The electrical was pretty straight-forward; I took the previous electrical connections from the old bathroom and wired the new electrical for the kitchen island. I didn’t get a chance to show the final terminations, but they just went to nearest j-box underneath the crawlspace. Additionally, the vent line was already connected in the attic space as it used to serve the old vent line from the bathroom. No need for a new vent in the roof!

Not a professional plumber or electrician, but I did consult some friends of mine to help with the design to ensure it met code in my area. Always conduct a professional if you are unsure and always verify your electrical and plumbing will meet your local building code.

Hope you all find this video helpful and good luck on your build!
