Fiberglass Y-stern Repair: Straightening the Hull

1 min read

In this video we use stations and strong back to begin repairing this old fiberglass canoe. The canoe was sandblasted to remove the gel coat which stripped much of the fiberglass with it so the canoe was too fragile and warped to begin strengthening it. West System Epoxy is used with 6 ounce fiberglass to straighten the keel so that we can begin reinforcing the hull interior.

The next video demonstrates installing foam ribs to the hull interior to strengthen the hull.
